This was Rafa’s 29th ATP 1000 Title and is one less than Djokovic, also sees him clinch his 50th clay court trophy which marks him the best player to ever play on clay, where the GOAT Roger Federer himself couldn’t have an answer too.

He was presented the title by his Highness Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, after the electric crowd went crazy with delight.

He is currently ranked on 7th position in the world and now seeks another clay court title in Barcelona. Rafa has always favored the clay according to the media hype he has gotten but he did defy the odds and proved everyone wrong as he has been able to win on almost all tennis court surfaces be it hard courts or even on grass creating debate over who really is the best.

The match started with Rafa putting extreme pressure on Ramos, by targeting his backhand.  This allowed him to create space and so secured an advantage in the fourth game followed by a second service break. Nadal was playing like his older version quick on his feet and used brute force.

However Nadal did fall back a little when he dropped points but he somehow fought his way through. Ramos said that Nadal has improved a lot from the last time they played together and didn’t even give him a whisker of a chance today as its never easy to play such a player of this magnitude. This was there third match; Nadal leads 3-0 now and extended a perfect 14 love score against his fellow countryman in according to the ATP World tour.
